1.Introduction of Vitamin B5
Calcium D-pantothenate is the stable, calcium salt form of pantothenic acid, also known as Vitamin B5. It is essential for producing energy from food and for making key molecules like fatty acids and certain hormones in the body.
Main Specification:
1.Food grade:
2.Feed grade:
Solubility: Soluble in water
HS. Code: 29362400
2.Main Production Way of Calcium D-pantothenate
(1)Synthesis of Pantolactone: Isobutyraldehyde, formaldehyde, and cyanide react to form DL-pantolactone.
(2)Resolution: The DL-pantolactone is resolved (e.g., enzymatically) to obtain D-pantolactone.
(3)Condensation: D-pantolactone reacts with β-alanine (or its salt) to form D-pantothenic acid.
(4)Calcium Salt Formation: D-pantothenic acid is neutralized with calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate to form calcium pantothenate (calpan).
(5)Purification: The product is crystallized, filtered, washed, and dried to obtain pure calcium pantothenate.
